Я против. Как бы мне не хотелось вновь видеть его на трассе. Михаэль уже вырос из нынешней Ф1, она стала чистым шоу, и спортом тут не пахнет. А Михаэль все таки первоклассный спортсмен и пилот. Так что увы и ах я против.

При всем уважении кажется, что Михаэль проиграет. Он уже всем все доказал :) , а фобы Шуми по-прежнему будут попрекать его Росбергом, вторикеллами и т.д.

DC kicks Assen in the RB7. (на английском)

Picture a Dutch canal-side and you tend to think of lazy bicycle rides, aimless strolls or perhaps just a relaxing coffee while watching the traffic slowly making its way along the water.

What you don't tend to envisage is a duck-scattering, ear-splitting, flat-out blast in a Formula One car.

That's just what the people of Assen were treated to over the weekend, however, as ahead of a demonstration run at the town's TT circuit yesterday, David Coulthard and our show car crew decided that it would be a good idea to take the RB7 for a little spin along one of the town's canal-side walks.

The locals seemed to think is was a pretty good idea, too, and despite baking temperatures of around 39 degrees Celsius, 18,000 people turned up on Friday to see whether DC could thread the RB7 through the narrow needle's eye of the city centre's canal bank.

The emphatic and very noisy answer was yes, and the 13-time grand prix winner had no problem cranking up the RB7 and completing two lengths of the wild 800m ride.

"It was a little bit different to what you'd normally do with a Formula One car but to power the car along the waterside hopefully looked really good for the spectators," said DC afterwards. "We were obviously a bit limited in what we could do because of the tight confines but I think we hit a decent speed and hopefully it gave everybody in town a flavour of what Formula One is all about."

Saturday was given over to sight-seeing in nearby Groningen, and David and the crew had to tread carefully in order to avoid getting roped into some impromptu ballroom dancing taking place in the town.

Yesterday, though, was the main event: a full-tilt assault on the Assen TT track. While the circuit is known as the cathedral of motorcycle racing, having hosted two-wheel races as far back 1925, but it's not known as regular haunt for grand prix cars, and DC's runs there as part of the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup at the Gamma Racing Day celebration were a revelation, to the 80,000 crowd and to the former Red Bull Racing man.

"It's a great circuit, a lot faster than I imagined it from watching on television," said DC after putting the RB7 through its paces on the 4.545km track. "I'm still a little bit lacking in knowledge but it's a really good track, a good track for F1 cars."

And after two runs and a load of burnouts and donuts, the Scot was left wanting one more go at the impressive circuit.

"It's quite tight at the beginning then very fast at the back, so it has a little bit of everything," he enthused. "However, it's so open that it's quite difficult to see the reference points. I think I definitely need a few more laps!"

It's been exactly two decades since the last South African Grand Prix and a full dozen years since F1 cars last thundered around Johannesburg's Kyalami circuit at an F1 winter test, so it was no wonder that the appearance of the Red Bull Racing RB7 in Durban last weekend caused huge excitement.

With huge traffic jams to get close to the street circuit constructed for the Top Gear Festival close to the Moses Mabhida Stadium and a crowd inside the arena so loud that it almost drowned out the sound of the BBC TV Show's driver The Stig doing donuts in the 2011 title-winning car, this was one of the wildest show car runs the team has experienced in quite some time.

"It was an amazing event," said Red Bull Junior programme star Antonio Felix da Costa, who was on hand to put the RB7 through its considerable paces around the street circuit. "The crowd was crazy and received us in the best possible way. I think we put on a really good show for the fans.

"Everyone was really cheering for us," he added. "The great thing about coming here is that because they don't have an F1 race the South African public in general love the noise, so anything with a loud engine, they come out for it."

They did their best to drown it out, however. With The Stig blasting around the stadium doing donuts in a second RB7, the Top Gear presenters encouraged the enthusiastic crowd to try to drown out the incredible roar of a Renault RS27 V8 being used in anger - and the fans nearly won. It was only when The Stig dropped the pedal to the floor for a final burn-out that the RB7 triumphed.

"It was a fantastic reception," said Antonio. "An F1 car is so hard to see these days that if we have the chance to bring an F1 car to countries that don't have an F1 race they just go crazy - and that's what happened!"

Most of Da Costa's work in the RB7 was done on the specially constructed 2.8km street circuit around the stadium and afterwards he admitted the track had been quite a challenge, though a rewarding one.

"The track was really cool - very quick and narrow and that required some focus, which you don't normally get at show run events," he smiled. "We had to get our heads down a little bit and make sure we didn't make any mistakes but at the same time make sure that everyone enjoyed it. The team did a great job.

"It was a real race track and it was fantastic to get a feel for the RB7 in race track conditions," he added. "We could really push and I just had a great feeling with the car. This car won races, won world championships with an amazing advantage - 2011 was a great year for the team. Now I've had a chance to taste that for myself and push a little bit and it was an incredible feeling."

Antonio also took the chance earlier to give fans without tickets to the event a taste of F1 action. Joined by show car crew the Portuguese race took the RB7 on a series of guerilla-style visits to Durban malls and night spots, firing up the car unannounced, to the delight of unsuspecting locals.

"On Friday night we went around a few clubs and fired up the car and the people went crazy," he smiled. "There was a tremendous atmosphere around the city. In true Red Bull style we just rocked up, didn't announce anything, brought out the car and fired it up. It was really, really cool."

After the event, the Top Gear presenters said they had waited 10 years to get a Formula One car into The Stig's hands at a festival event and that the appearance of the RB7 had been a real weekend highlight.
